Cookies
Short version: this site sets one set of cookies, for analytics, and only after you say yes. Decline and nothing here stops working — every restaurant page, rating, map link and download behaves exactly the same.
What we set, if you agree
We use Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-618CZ6J37J, to count page views and see
which neighbourhood and restaurant pages people actually find useful. It writes two first-party
cookies:
_ga— tells one returning browser from another. Expires after two years._ga_<container>— keeps the current visit together as one session. Expires after two years.
Neither carries your name or email, because we never ask for either. IP addresses are anonymised by Google's default configuration.
We also record which affiliate links get clicked — which partner, which page, which position on that page. That is how we can tell whether a recommendation was useful rather than just loud. It is counted in the same analytics property and is subject to the same consent.
Until you agree, nothing runs
Analytics is held behind Google Consent Mode with every storage category denied by default. Two third-party scripts wait alongside it and only load once you accept:
- The GetYourGuide tour widget, which sets its own cookies on the pages that use it.
- Rakuten Automate, which turns plain TripAdvisor links into affiliate links.
What loads either way
Google Fonts serves the two typefaces this site uses. It sets no cookies, but Google receives your IP address as part of the request. Affiliate links set cookies only after you click one, and those belong to the destination — Booking.com, GetYourGuide, TripAdvisor and the rest — under their own policies, not ours. The full list is on our affiliate disclosure.
Changing your mind
Your choice is stored in your browser, not on our server, and we ask again if this policy changes. To change it now, use the button below. To clear it entirely, delete this site's site data in your browser settings — you will be asked again on your next visit.
Any standard tracker blocker also stops all of this, as does Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
