Where is Hoi An and is it part of Da Nang now?

Hoi An is a UNESCO-listed old town on Vietnam's central coast. Since the July 2025 administrative reorganisation it sits within the expanded Da Nang city. (Flying into Da Nang and staying a while? What food is Hoi An famous for?

Hoi An's signature dishes are cao lầu (thick noodles with pork and greens, unique to the town), white rose dumplings, mì quảng, wonton, and banh mi. You'll find great versions of each within the Old Town, and some of the best local versions out in Cẩm Châu and Cẩm Phô.
